4/23/02: 17 years ago today I became one of the most biggest and most die hard Islander fans known to mankind, not once have I ever regretted my decision on becoming a fan of this beautiful magnificent not to mention historic franchise... At the time I started watching I was 9 (I was born on 3/6/93) So it was a little over a month after I had turned 9, I was just flicking through random channels on the TV when all of a sudden I came across the Islander game! The Isles were playing the Maple Leafs in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals! Just moments before I changed the channel, at 14:34 of the 1st period Mark Parrish slammed home a rebound to tie the game 1-1! When I saw how the celebration took place with the fans and players I couldnt help but continue watching, the Isles walloped Toronto 6-1 that game...
Becoming a fan of the New York Islanders is by far the best decision in sports that I have ever made in my life, and I'm proud to be a part of a wonderful family fanatically speaking and I'm proud that I chose to be a fan of such an amazing franchise that has a future brighter than the sun...
