In this video, Barry talks about the problems that causes for not only his owner, but for his training, behaviour, mental state and health too. With time (and perhaps exposure to a bossy mare!) Barry is confident he will come around and settle to the job, but until then his owner has admirably accepted that he will need to work hard to 'stay on top' of his horse's antics and behaviour and has taken the necessary steps to ensure that he is able to do so.
Eddie has massive potential to be a brilliant bowtop-pulling cob - he is great in traffic, has fantastic stamina, a good pace for covering distance and - underneath all his showing off - a lovely nature.
Given that before he came to us, he had been bought by his owner straight from a field he had lived in for almost all his life, completely on his own and with minimal human-handling, it has been fantastic to find that underneath the original mistrusting, semi-feral mud-monster exterior that he arrived at our yard with, there was a lovely, kind-natured boy who does actually enjoy a fuss and a cuddle (just so long as there are no girls watching that he feels the need to impress!)
We wish Eddie and his owner all the best for their future adventures together on the open road!
