UVA basketball declines White House invite The University of Virginia men’s basketball team respectfully declined an invitation to the White House to celebrate their NCAA Championship. Head Coach Tony Bennett cited scheduling issues as the reason for not attending. The Cavaliers join the growing list of champions who have either declined or not been invited during the Trump presidency. Meanwhile, the women’s national champion Baylor Bears accepted an invitation to the White House, becoming the first women’s team to make a solo visit during the Trump era.
