✔SUBSCRIBE✔ There are more women in the business world than ever before and a record number of entrepreneur support programs. Still, it seems women struggle. How long will women have to overcome biases before we’re given the same opportunities as men?
Some of these biases are measurable, such as the deplorable 2.2% of all venture capital that women receive.
However, there are also the little things – often harder to put a figure to, yet equally damaging – that prove successful businesswomen are often not taken seriously.
For example, as a multi-millionaire entrepreneur, paying for a vacation property is not a problem for me, financially speaking. However, when I tried to purchase a timeshare recently, the sales agent hesitated to sell it to me on the grounds that I don’t have a husband.
Although we may become entrepreneurs, business leaders, and business owners, are we ever really making advances as women in the business world?
Women-owned businesses also tend to earn lower revenues than businesses owned by men. I believe women entrepreneurs could use some specific entrepreneur support – guidance for overcoming the unique challenges that exist for us as women in the business world today.
