Paul spoke directly to the Philippians to encourage them to hold fast in their faith. They were under spiritual attack by other individuals who felt that the Old Testament ways were still valid, relevant and necessary to follow God. Paul shows how regardless of what we do outwardly which we may feel is relevant unless we truly commit to Christ, our works are garbage. We too should strive to be more like Christ and not depend on our works. Jesus wants to trade his righteousness for our sins. Here are a few questions to ask yourself once you've watched the video:
1. If you were to write a resume summarizing your life, how would it look?
2. What do you think God would say about it?
3. What are some things that we as Christians disagree on?
4. What are some outward actions that people do to appear to be followers of Christ but are NOT necessarily Christ-like?
5. How can we continue to remind work towards God's righteousness
