Connie Britton Thinks 'Dirty John' Is Very Timely, And Ultimately A Woman's Story

For Connie Britton, the character of Debra Newell on 'Dirty John' tapped into so much of the unease and discomfort of being a woman in Trump's America.

"[Newell] was so successful... and yet she couldn't find her own value without a man," Britton says of Newell at the Vulture Emmy Studio. "Women are still coming from a tradition where we don't value ourselves equally."
