.Some viewers suggested that the floater device is not needed, in order to start the flow of water in the siphon tube.

I demonstrate as truthfull as humanly possible, that this is not the case.

The floater device is needed in order to raise the water level quite a few centimeters above the top of the siphon tube...
IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
Actually in a few seconds.

If there is no floater device, the flow from the tap only, will not be enough to raise the water level that high above the top of the siphon tube, AND quickly enough.
Once the water level reaches the bottom of the siphon opening, the same amount of water comming out of the tap, will start flowing outside the siphon tube, with the same flow rate.

The trick in the system is the abrupt raising of the water level A FEW CENTIMETERS ABOVE THE TOP of the siphon tube.

It needs to be that high, because our siphon tube is thick, in order to accomodate a high flow rate. It has to be able to empty the tank, faster than the tap can replenish.

And since the tube is so thick, it can not start flowing abruptly, when the water level reaches the bottom of the opening.
It will start flowing in the same rate as our tap.
The water needs to be higher than the top of the siphon tube.
Maybe an automatic valve, positioned in a strategic hight above the siphon tube, could do the trick. We may try this in the future.
