Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) workers on Sunday allegedly attacked police and forest guards during an afforestation drive in Sarasala village in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. Police arrested a TRS leader for allegedly assaulting a woman forest officer with sticks. Accused Koneru Krishna Rao is the brother of TRS MLA Koneru Konappa. Krishna Rao was recently elected as Zilla Parishad vice-chairman. He was taken into custody along with 15 others, including his close aide Pochamallu, for indiscriminately assaulting forest range officer Cholle Anitha.
