Most children today have an iPad or other tech device. They provide an easy break for parents and can help children learn and grow. Alongside the learning possibilities technology can also be extremely frustrating as a parent. Monitoring screen time and trying to regulate such an attractive and addictive tool for children can sometimes lead to blowups and yelling matches. The simplest solution is always to ban the ipad, but I've found that banning such devices can also put your child at an academic deficit when we consider how dependent our world is on technology.
I believe a better understanding of these devices is a simple way to ensure that technology is being used in a kid-friendly manner. Although many children think of iPads as toys, they are in fact very powerful tools for learning and creative exploration. How these devices are used is up to the discretion of the user. It is up to parents and educators to monitor and teach appropriate uses of these devices to ensure a safe experience. This video will help you in this process.
