Here is part 1, with an expanded video description:
After the AVI finished its recycle route in part 1, it went to Atlas Recycling to unload the cardboard. It was neat seeing the tailgate open, the packer blade and the inside of the body. The AVI sure lets out a loud scream when unloading and that classic 90's Peterbilt airbrake sound never gets old. I believe this is the first video of a AVI unloading trash or recycle too. Atlas Recycling is in the middle of PFI Rubbish and Pacific Waste, when the AVI was unloading you could see a few Pacific Waste Roll off bins in the background.
In the past once the cardboard was unloaded the AVI was done for the day. However, with all the new construction in Kona, they needed another truck to help with trash so I was able to follow the AVI back on route for trash. Superior Sanitation sure has great service because it seems like whenever there is trash next to a dumpster, they will empty the dumpster, pick up the loose trash and empty the dumpster again. Once all the trash dumpsters are collected the AVI goes to the West Hawaii Sanitary landfill which is operated by Waste Management.
I hope everyone enjoys this video, especially the viewers in Los Angeles watching this ex LA AVI. There will be a part 3 with a few more clips of the AVI on route and several clips from their amazing yard.
Thank you Atlas Recycling, Superior Sanitation, the driver Rich, the helper, and the owner Mike. Superior Sanitation is a great company with an amazing fleet and on top of that Mike and all the drivers are incredibly friendly.
