No Means No Even if They are Whispering it | Iman Rukayyah | TEDxAhmaduBelloUniversity Rukkayyah Iman is a writer and a poet and song writer, who just got the confidence to start sharing her poetry this year. She grew up in London, England But is originally from jigawa state, Nigeria. She started writing short stories at the age of 7 in her dyslexia lessons and then later on developed her writing into poetry. She has been working with Alhanislam as her partner, they have also started a group together called mics and voices. Her poetry ranges from her political views to Abstract poems, from stuff people can’t speak about to stuff going on around us.
Rukkayyah Iman in her talk takes us on a journey through poetry as to how the decadence of society in terms of rape tolerance and shaming of victims. in her talk, she makes emphasis on the basis on consent and that it does not matter the situation a No remains a No in any sexual encounter.
