Leroy Sane has headed to Germany to step up his rehabilitation from the nasty knee injury he picked up during the Community Shield final victory over Liverpool.Sane damaged knee ligaments in a blow which frustrated both Manchester City and also Bayern Munich, who had made the winger their top summer transfer target.Interestingly, Sane is now undertaking part of his rehab with the preferred doctor of German giants Bayern, as report Bild. Dr Christian Fink is the man of choice, who has regularly worked with players of the Bavarian club on their recovery processes in the past.Sane is reported to be on a light training schedule which sees six hours of work per day, and has now enabled him to bend his injured knee at a 90 degree angle. As reported by Bild, ‘everything is going according to plan' in the view of the medical staff treating Sane in his homeland. The player will soon return to Manchester where he will increase the intensity of his rehab, though no set date has been given for his return to the field. As recently reported by Sportsmail, Bayern have not given up in their pursuit of the winger and will make a renewed bid in January.Figures upward of £130million had been floated for the potential sale of Sane, which would make him City's most expensive ever export.Sane joined City in a deal worth £37.5m from Schalke in August 2016, signing a five-year deal with the club.
