A senior U.S. official says, he hopes South Korea would change its mind about scrapping the military information sharing pact with Japan, also known as GSOMIA,... before the deal officially comes to an end in November.
The AFP reported on Tuesday,... citing an unnamed American official,... that there will be much to do should the two return to their pact.
As for China, the official said that,.... the decision to end GSOMIA would rather make China's position in the region even stronger,... or at least weaken the alliance structure.
South Korea's Prime Minister said on Tuesday... that there is about three months left until the pact officially comes to an end,... and that Seoul could reconsider its decision if Japan reverses its unfair trade measures.
