Welcome to the first episode of our From Both Sides Podcast! If you haven't already given the podcast a listen, From Both Sides is a debate about a specific topic between my father and I that may end up in an agreement or a heated/calm disagreement. Topics can range widely from very controversial, such as politics and differing philosophies, to more personal topics that may involve friends and family. The aim of this podcast is to show differing perspectives from two distant generations and maybe allow some new understandings to be created. This could mean understandings between ourselves or a new understanding in one of our mindsets by you the viewer/listener. In this episode, we discuss whether college is necessary in today's world and what determines whether it is not. Jobs, careers, personal life, and even the military is discussed by myself, a graduated Associates degree holder with a few years of job experience and half a life dedicated to Karate, and my father, a manager and teacher with nearly 50 years of work experience and who was also a Marine. We hope this gives insight into both of our minds and hopefully allows you to start discussing or debating with us! We encourage all schools of thought no matter if we disagree or agree with you as it encourages discussion. We hope you enjoy and participate!
