CRISTIANO RONALDO has insisted that his hand gesture towards Atletico Madrid fans during Juventus' 2-2 draw last night was simply urging them "to learn". The 34-year-old hit the headlines the last time he faced his former arch-rivals in the Champions League after he appeared to mimic Diego Simeone's 'cojones' celebration. The Portuguese superstar hit a hat-trick that night to dump Atleti out of the last-16 second leg to haul Juve through to the quarter-finals. But the former Real Madrid icon clarified his signal to reporters after the match, telling El Chiringuito that it means: "Learn, you have to learn." But it was Ronaldo who had the last laugh after his stunning hat-trick in the return leg dumped the La Liga giants out of Europe. The former Manchester United star is known for his celebrations, with his now-iconic 'Sii' jump and swivel move becoming a staple of his goals. And recently Ronaldo mixed things up by mocking VAR as he grinned and made video-replay signals following his strike in the 4-2 win over Napoli. Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidi had struck to give Juve a firm advantage before efforts from Stefan Savic and Hector Herrera earned Atleti a draw.
