Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia Today I'll show you how to crochet a cute and adorable baby penguin. This is a relatively simple amigurumi or stuffed toy pattern. Stitches used include the chain, single crochet, and the sc2tog (single crochet two together). You'll also learn how the "yarn under" in the first half of a single crochet instead of a "yarn over" helps keep the color changes straight and aligned when working in the round. You'll also see how the magic ring is just a loose slip knot.
I'm using 25 yards of white yarn, 35 yards of blue yarn and less than 10 yards of orange yarn. All are Red Heart Super Saver. I'm also using an F 3.75 mm crochet hook, 3/8" / 9 mm round buttons, and less than 1 ounce of Polyester Fiberfill for the stuffing. These little penguins make wonderful gifts! For Christmas, winter, or any time of the year!
