Pioneer Cards From Born of the Gods That May Impact the New Format

As the second set of Theros block, Born of the Gods is most well known for the first appearance of multicolored Gods and features Tribute and Bestow effects! It is notable that the set is smaller and comes from a time when each block consisted of 3 sets. Most of the cards in Born of the Gods are pretty forgettable. Will Pioneer change the history for one of the most lackluster sets in Magic: The Gathering?

In this episode, Jake and Joel go over the cards in Born of the Gods, that may impact Pioneer! On October 21, 2019, Wizards of the Coast announced Pioneer, a new eternal, non-rotating format-- a "post-modern" format starting with Return to Ravnica. This format, likely a response to the price barrier of Modern and Legacy, would ban fetch lands (an expensive crux and format staple of Modern and Legacy) from the start, likely leading to a less expensive and therefore more accessible meta, all while giving new life to a bunch of otherwise forgotten-about cardboard.
