UP politician, his sidekicks accused of overacting after ‘crying’ video at Gandhi statue goes vira

A video of a politician pretending to cry bitterly at a Gandhi statue on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi has gone viral on social media platforms. Twitterati in particularly are now slamming the politician accusing him and his sidekicks of overacting.


The video, which was shared by a journalist from Uttar Pradesh, showed a politician along with his associates ‘crying’ while bowing before a statue of India’s father of the nation. The politician in question, according to the journalist who posted the video, is one Firoz Khan from the Samajwadi Party. Khan reportedly hails from Sambhal district.

The politician is seen addressing Gandhi to express his gratitude in a seemingly bizarre manner. He says, “You left us orphaned after giving us the freedom. Such a huge country and you gave us freedom. But all our desires are ending slowly.”

What makes the video even more comical is how the crying by the politician’s colleagues intensifies as he addresses Gandhi’s statue.
