Weird! Whale Carcass Feasted on in Fascinating Deep-Sea Footage Incredible footage posted by the Nautilus research team shows thousands of creatures devouring the remains of a baleen whale on the seafloor.

The 'whalefall', found off the California coast at Davidson Seamount, attracted bone-eating worms, cusk eels, and octopus. Other organisms seen onsite include crabs, grenadier, polychaetes.

The scientists' research vessel was travelling at a depth of 3240m when it came across the whale skeleton.
