Attempted ZERO WASTE Grocery Shopping | This Weeks Grocery Haul

Attempted ZERO WASTE Grocery Shopping | This Weeks Grocery Haul I attempted a zero waste grocery haul from Sprouts today for my family of seven. I was able to stay well under budget by avoiding unnecessary packaging. In most of my grocery hauls you do not see me purchase much meat (if any). We are not vegan or vegetarian, but we ARE primarily plant based and try to keep our meat consumption to less than 20% of our diet.

The most important factor for us, is that the meat we do consume be grown on our own homestead, or purchased from a local farmer that we know so that we know it lived a happy life with a healthy diet ect.

There are a few things that changed the way we eat. Health and nutrition, as i go through my nutritionist certification. Some nutritional challenges, including Whole 30 and a Vegan month, and some different documentaries. A few of my favorites: Forks Over Knives, That Sugar Film, and Dying to Have Known. The most impactful for me personally: Earthlings. Earthlings is a highly disturbing documentary that shows the hidden truths of today's meat industry as well as how animals are exploited for so many other things beyond food. It was so hard to watch I had to watch it in 10 minute segments over the course of a month. But the thing is, those things are actually happening and denying or hiding that doesn't take it away. Voting with our dollars does!

There is a better and more compassionate way! This, is why we started homesteading!
