PKR deputy president Azmin Ali said the party's Youth and Wanita congress took place smoothly because he didn't resort to making personal attacks in his opening speeches at both events. In Anwar Ibrahim's speech yesterday, the party president spoke about Si Kitol and Raja Mendeliar betraying the Malacca sultanate in 1511, paving way for a Portuguese invasion.
Azmin and his supporters appeared to have taken that analogy personally, alongside veiled criticism by speakers at the congress.
