This movie visualises the dynamics of a moderately flexible bead-spring (inextensible) chain in a 2D turbulent flow. The slight stiffness of the chain moderates the extent of preferential sampling of vortical regions shown by highly flexible chains. An ensemble of non-interacting chains (black lines) are overlaid on a pseudo-color plot of the vorticity field. See also:
