WATCH: ‘No president is supposed to be a dictator,’ Nadler says of Trump | Trump impeachment hearing Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee chair, said Republican lawmakers’ arguments that Democrats are not acting properly in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump distracts from the central issue. “No president is supposed to be a dictator in the United States,” Nadler said. “When I hear colleagues of mine arguing that Congress is unpopular and therefore obstruction of Congress is a good thing, this shows terrible ignorance or lack of care for our institutions, for our democracy, for our form of government, for our liberties.” The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
