About Us
Words with WaPrep is based in Washington State, USA. It is a school-based radio talk show formed with a small group of talented teachers and students who love learning about English words through history, culture, family, and daily lives. Each week, hosts Eunice and Teresa will talk with several students about new English words, word origins, grammar, and the word usage in a speaking and writing prospective. The show will be broadcast via International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT) each week. ICRT is Taiwan’s only English language broadcaster with the mission of bridging cultural gaps and integrating the resources of Taiwan’s local and international communities. The mission of Words with WaPrep is to form a valuable tool for Taiwan residents and students to better understand English and join the global community. The talk show is produced by Washington Preparatory School, an independent private school located in Bothell, Washington.
Hosts and Staffs
Eunice Bonaparte is our main host who also teaches 6-9 grade social studies and history at our school. She loves history and has a broad basis of World, Major Societies, American, and Global history knowledge. She develops a flexible, unique, and adaptive approach regarding teaching. She makes the learning of history so fun and interesting that most students at our school are excited about learning history from her.
Co-host Teresa Coggins is a physical education teacher who also works as an office receptionist at Washington Preparatory School. She has a great smile and sense of humor that makes everyone around her cheerful and fun. She also loves children and often found teaching student a joyful thing as part of her daily life.
Content of the talk show
Eunice and Teresa are both talented teachers with a passion for teaching English at Washington Preparatory School. The talk show is based on the informative perspective idea of modern language communication. The talk shows are a structured, scaffolded approach which they start off with level three words and become more difficult each week. Words will be researched and handpicked each week prior to the talk show. Hosts will be using personal experiences, culture, history, and families as starting points. We will discuss American culture topics with phrases and new vocabulary words to help students and listeners connect in English. Students on the talk show will also be asked to answer questions and come up with sentences with during the broadcast.
The talk show is not like classroom lectures; It is a more lively, original, cultural, fun, and conversational approach to talk about different English Words. People who listen to our talk show will find out more about American culture, why American people do what they do, and what people do to make themselves more happy and comfortable living in the United States.
