James Ray is a singer who fell off the face of the earth in 1964. He had two hits, "If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody" and "Itty Bitty Pieces". He recorded the original version of George Harrison's hit, "Got My Mind Set On You". The Beatles liked James Ray and considered him "a hero" (Tune In: The Beatles: All These Years, page 565). James Ray is a mystery. He was born in 1941, maybe. He was destitute and living on a rooftop, and was discovered by songwriter Rudy Clark, maybe. Wikipedia says James Ray died "circa 1964".
