We had so much fun in Jamaica that we don’t even know where to begin with the videos. This one, however, is all about Simas meeting Avri’s extended family: cousins, aunties, and so much more! We drove through so many towns and parishes: Montego Bay in St James, Salt Marsh, Falmouth, Martha Brae, Florence Hall Village, Corral Spring, Duncans and RIo Bueno in Trelawny, Discovery Bay, Runaway Bay, Salem, Priory, St Ann's Bay, Steer Town and Ocho Rios in St Ann, Tower Isle, Boscobel, Oracabessa, Port Maria, Anotto Bay and Golden Grove in St Mary, and finally, Windsor Castle, Buff Bay, Spring Garden, Hope Bay, St Margaret's Bay and Port Antonio at last. No part of driving through Jamaica is boring at all! We covered nearly the entire North Coast, but we will have to save places like Negril for next time, and southern Jamaica like Kingston, Portmore, Spanish Town, May Pen, Port Royal, Mandeville, etc for next time.
We got to try some real yard style ackee and saltfish, some true Jamaican fruit, fly a drone with the kids, play some football, sprint like Usain Bolt at Folly Oval, enjoy some real coconut jelly straight from the coconut tree that master of everything food-related Glen cut down with a machete, enjoy some beautiful sights and refreshing beach at Frenchman’s Cove, and most importantly, spend some much needed time with the little ones that we love the most! This trip would not have been the same without family and friends. Port Antonio is a special place for us. Like any place, it has its issues but we didn’t let any of it get in the way of taking a break from New York City for a few days. The sunshine was on our side for most of the trip and we couldn’t ask for much more other than what the Jamaican nature provided: the weather, the beaches, the foliage, the food and a perfect short getaway.
