My parents take away all the money I earn

My parents take away all the money I earn Hi, everybody! Today Nancy tell her story. It’s about how her 'rents deprived her of her childhood.
Or I should say, they forced me to work at an early age. They told me I should be independent.
Mum hasn't noticed me since my childhood. Well yeah, I mean, she fed me. She took care of me. She read the obligatory bedtime stories and all that jazz. But we didn't have any heart talks together. Even as a kid, I always thought she just had a mandatory checklist in her head. Something like «watering the flowers - done, reading a fairy tale - done, cooking dinner - done». That’s it. And she always stuck to it. And if she was doing some of her issues, it was no use to ask her for anything.
With dad, it was easier and, at the same time, more difficult. He worked very hard. And he came home only late in the evening. So we hardly talked. The only thing he cared about was my academic progress. But I’ve never heard any praise from him. At 4, I brought him a picture I draw myself in my kindergarten. He said I could do better. The same thing at school. If I brought Bs, he told me I wasn't good enough. So, I should have only As. But if there were some, he just told me it was «just my duty to study well». Nothing special.
