Even though you see them everywhere in Florida, they are a protected species. Therefore, the only place you can swim with the manatees legally is around Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River, Florida. And the only way to get there is either by kayaking, paddleboarding or taking a tour. We opted to rent our kayaks from Hunter Springs Kayaks as we wanted to spend more time exploring the area.
