Education – A Major Problem

Education is the most essential asset for the development of a nation.
It is a global fact that nations, who reached the heights of development and prosperity, have done it by using education and Information as a tool to do it. Education is simply an investment to achieve both human and economic development. But unfortunately, it is one of the biggest problems in Pakistan. The education system of Pakistan is rotten to the core. At present, the Education sector is facing a lot of crisis just like the other major sectors of the country. The Education system is based on different mediums which divide students in two segments. Mostly private schools are ENGLISH medium while government schools are URDU medium. Regional differences are also a major cause for a poor educational system in Pakistan.
Gender discrimination is common in Pakistan. People are very conservative and they do not want their daughters to do to school and get education.
Due to this the ratio of boys and girls in schools of Pakistan is 10:4.
In the International Human development report, Pakistan is placed at 136th position for having just 49.9 percent educated population. In addition to that, Pakistan is ranked at 113th out of 120 registered UN members according to the research conducted by UNESCO. Some of the basic flaws of the education system in Pakistan contribute to the Pakistan economic, ethnic and sociopolitical crisis within the country.
Moreover, the quality of education in most of the public schools and colleges is not satisfactory.
Those people, who do not get a job in any sector, try their luck in education sector. They are not professionally trained so they are unable to train a nation. The quality of teaching needs attention in rural areas.
Poverty is another factor that prohibits parents from sending their children in private school where the quality of education is comperetively better.
Poor peole cannot afford expenditure for the education of their children in private schools. Therfore, they get their children in government schools.
The allocation of funds for education sector by the government of Pakistan is very low that compresis only two (2) percent of the total GDP.

Government of Pakistan should increse the education budget to improve the quality of educational system.
Education is very important for the development of any country. It is the only cure for the disability of a country because today’s students are tomorrow’s nation builders.
Government of Pakistan should take steps to remove the above mentioned problems so as to improve the quality of educational system of the country.
















تعلیم - ایک بڑا مسئلہ

تعلیم کسی قوم کی ترقی کے لئے سب سے ضروری اثاثہ ہے۔
یہ عالمی حقیقت ہے کہ ترقی اور خوشحالی کی بلندیوں پر پہنچنے والی قومیں ، تعلیم اور معلومات کو بطور آلے استعمال کرکے اس کا کام انجام دیتی ہیں۔ تعلیم انسانی اور معاشی ترقی دونوں کو حاصل کرنے کے لئے صرف ایک سرمایہ کاری ہے۔ لیکن بدقسمتی سے ، یہ پاکستان کا سب سے بڑا مسئلہ ہے۔ پاکستان کا نظام تعلیم بنیادی طور پر بوسیدہ ہے۔ اس وقت ملک کے دیگر بڑے شعبوں کی طرح تعلیم کے شعبے کو بھی بہت بحران کا سامنا ہے۔

نظام تعلیم مختلف میڈیموں پر مبنی ہے جو طلبا کو دو حصوں میں تقسیم کرتے ہیں۔ زیادہ تر نجی اسکول انگریزی میڈیم ہیں جبکہ سرکاری اسکول یو آر ڈی یو میڈیم ہیں۔ علاقائی اختلافات بھی پاکستان میں ناقص تعلیمی نظام کی ایک بڑی وجہ ہیں۔
پاکستان میں صنفی امتیاز عام ہے۔ لوگ بہت قدامت پسند ہیں اور وہ نہیں چاہتے ہیں کہ ان کی بیٹیاں اسکول میں تعلیم حاصل کریں اور تعلیم حاصل کریں۔
اس کی وجہ سے پاکستان کے اسکولوں میں لڑکوں اور لڑکیوں کا تناسب 10: 4 ہے۔
بین الاقوامی انسانی ترقیاتی رپورٹ میں ، صرف 49.9 فیصد تعلیم یافتہ آبادی رکھنے کے لئے پاکستان 136 ویں نمبر پر ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ ، یونیسکو کی طرف سے کی گئی تحقیق کے مطابق ، اقوام متحدہ کے 120 رجسٹرڈ ممبروں میں سے 113 ویں نمبر پر ہے۔ پاکستان میں نظام تعلیم کی کچھ بنیادی خامیاں پاکستان کے معاشی ، نسلی اور معاشرتی سیاسی بحران میں ملک کے اندر تعاون کرتی ہیں۔
مزید یہ کہ بیشتر سرکاری اسکولوں اور کالجوں میں تعلیم کا معیار اطمینان بخش نہیں ہے۔
وہ لوگ ، جن کو کسی بھی شعبے میں نوکری نہیں ملتی ہے ، تعلیم کے شعبے میں اپنی قسمت آزماتے ہیں۔ وہ پیشہ ورانہ طور پر تربیت یافتہ نہیں ہیں لہذا وہ کسی قوم کی تربیت کرنے سے قاصر ہیں۔ دیہی علاقوں میں تدریسی معیار کو توجہ دینے کی ضرورت ہے۔
غربت ایک اور عنصر ہے جو والدین کو اپنے بچوں کو نجی اسکول میں بھیجنے سے روکتا ہے جہاں تعلیم کا معیار مقابلہ بہتر ہے۔
