How To Get BIG Arms - Free Guide Download
In today’s video, Danny talks about what the difference is between a traditional bicep curl and a hammer curl. It is important to remember that the bicep in general is always being worked when curling, but understanding the differences can help you target specific muscles better! Here’s the differences for you to refer back to:
Supinated Bicep Curl
- Strengthens the “Bicep Brachii” during supination & stabilization within the shoulder joint
- Supination (Palm rotating up) & Flexion are primary functions of the bicep
Reverse Grip Curl
- Focuses more on the “Brachialis”
- Eliminates supination from this movement
- Lies underneath the bicep
- Primary function is flexion at the elbow joint
Hammer Grip Curl
- Works both the bicep and “Brachialis”
- Focuses more on the “Brachioradialis”
- Primary function is flexion BUT also helps with pronation and supination
