Video- A living toll booth: Humble elephant fed by travelers passing through. This is a refreshing scenery in Sri Lanka you can spot as you travel in many remote places on the island. These elephants are well known and to be less aggressive compared to many others them who roam in the wild. You can see them as you travel on pilgrimage to many temples in the country as humble people go to do their offerings, especially in Kataragama. However, this is punishable, and the wildlife department is authorized to arrest people who feed elephants. This can lead to dangerous outcomes as elephants are unpredictable at all times. Please refrain from doing this if you ever get a chance.
