Daniel 8 - The Horn Power, A Further Study

Daniel 8 - The Horn Power, A Further Study Daniel receives a two-part vision in Chapter 8, one concerning a Ram and a Goat, and another dealing with a horn power that emerges from one of the four winds of heaven. But how are the two visions connected and what relevance do they play in part with one another? God uses this now historical event as a marker of which the 2,300 prophecy beings unto the cleansing of Heavens Temple.

2300 years from the decree in 457BC brought us to the year 1844, which of course is not the time of the end but, within the Heavenly sanctuary the judgement of the dead would begin. The time of the horn power, at the fifth trumpet during tribulation on earth will bring about the judgement of the living.

Daniel is told the meaning of the vision concerns a later time of wrath at the appointed time of the end. In a previous study we examined the difference between the horns powers from Daniel 7 and Daniel 8. Despite their likeness in characteristics and persecution of the saint for a time, times and half a time, they arise at different times on the prophetic timeline and are not one in the same.
