Weather’s been pretty hot these couple months, and it has claimed the life of a few of my tarantulas. With that, I’ve came up with a solution to combat the heat within their enclosures; and that is transferring them into plastic shoe box tubs. On the tubs, I’ve made two ventilation holes on opposite sides, which should retain coolness and slow down the rate of evaporation as compared to holes on the top lid. Substrate is also kept relatively damp to lower the chance of dehydration. Also, their water dishes stay filled much longer this way.

What I’m doing for them is based on the surrounding conditions over here. It will be very different for other countries that have different surrounding temperature surroundings/humidity.
