Pay attention to "when you hear the story, where is it happening"

In dealing with the story (situation) - that is, listening, making sense of it - remember these 3 words

Patience - tolerate delay without getting angry
Flexibility - modify your approach depending on what's happening - what you hear, sense, feel
Discretion - ensure you do not reveal private information (confidentiality)

For co-creative conversations patience, flexibility, and discretion must be woven into your approach
