The Game of Life, chance through a Spinner | Felix Wach & Sophie Gottschalk | TEDxYouth@BSN

The Game of Life, chance through a Spinner | Felix Wach & Sophie Gottschalk | TEDxYouth@BSN After playing the board game, ‘The Game of Life’, Sophie Gottschalk and Felix Wach, two students at the British School in The Netherlands, noticed that chance dictates the world.

What if real life was dictated by a spinner?

Everyone starts with the same. The spinner determines the future. What is the game is real?

After a lot of reading and debating, they think that it is important for us to feel empathy. Watch their plea for understanding that sometimes, people are not responsible for the situation in which they find themselves.

Felix and Sophie are 13-year old students of The British School in the Netherlands. They want to make the world a better place both globally and environmentally. They love debating and reading and enjoy a good argument once in a while.

“Breaking the Mould” is the second TEDxYouth event organised by The British School in the Netherlands. Speakers explore ideas around ‘If I could lead for a day...’, ‘Tackling tough truths’ and ‘Invitations for Change’.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, were x=independently organized TED event.

The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations).
