This Innovative product allows recovery specialist to apply a universal type of wheel to a vehicle in order to safely move it. They have a prototype for a DOT approved wheel with the universal pattern that will be available potentially by 3rd quarter of 2020.
The DOT GuniWheel would allow light service providers to restore drivability to a vehicle that has a missing spare, a damaged spare, has a spare that is not able to be lowered from the vehicle due to failure of the storage system, or any other case where the universal wheel will be more applicable than the spare.
