Tesla recently emailed everyone who ordered their car after June 30th, 2018 that their free trial of Tesla's Premium Connectivity internet connection now has an official expiration date. You can let it lapse, pay Tesla the local equivalent of $9.99 per month or you can use this technique to tether to your phone if your cellular plan includes data sharing, mobile hotspot, or a similarly named feature. I demonstrate using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ but it works with any phone that shares out a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz signal (some cars don't have a 5 GHz antenna).
