The surface of the sun is revealed in unprecedented detail by the solar telescope in Hawaii. The images were of the highest resolution ever produced of the star and will aid scientific understanding of how the it impacts the earth.
ANU Cosmologist Dr Brad Tucker told Sky News the telescope provides a "real, live version of what the sun is doing".
