Advertising is not as simple as it may seem on the surface. You can't just make an ad and expect that everyone who sees it will be knocking on your door wanting to buy. Advertising is truly an art, and in the age of Digital Advertising you have to be agile because things change so quickly. When you start, you must understand that everything you do is rooted in psychology.

As humans, we have not changed much since the start of civilization. To this end, there are 8 motivators that drive action:

1) Suvival, Enjoyment of life, life extension
2) Enjoyment of Food and beverage
3) Freedom from fear pain and danger
4) Sexual Companionship
5) Comfortable Living Conditions
6) To be Superior, Winning, Keeping Up with the Joneses
7) Care and Protection of Loved Ones
8) Social Approval

In this video we break down what each one of these really mean and give examples as to how you can use them effectively in your advertising efforts to help push people to want to know more and possibly purchase from you. Reread that last sentence one more time. That is what you are trying to do. Battle human inertia. We would rather not do anything than to have to act to change something. Once we are driven to act, it isn't so bad to make choices and impact change. The problem is that first act.
